Master Blinston, students, family & friends from Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy would like to sincerely congratulate Thomas Reece who recently made the grade of Black Belt 2nd Dan, Thomas aged 13 began his martial arts journey with Chief Instructor Master Andrew Blinston at the age of 6, back in May 2017. Thomas quickly developing a keen interest in the Korean martial arts, he joined the black belt leadership training, and goals were set for black belt and beyond. With the continuous support from his parents, Thomas has engaged in private and group lessons, clearly dedicated to his martial arts training he has committed to attending 2 to 3 lessons each week. Thomas is a keen listener, attentive thinker and can process all the martial arts disciplines to a consistently high standard. It was a great pleasure for Master Blinston to award Thomas his 2nd Dan, after completing the personal development course and black belt graduation demonstration. Students of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy provided an Open Day experience to the community of Retford at the Exchange Street Martial Arts & Leadership Academy.
Master Blinston and team provided the opportunity for the public to visit the full-time martial arts school to meet the Master Instructor and senior students, watch a series of demonstrations and take part in the complimentary taster lessons.
The team also provided an Introductory to their full-time martial arts school with a demonstration in the award-winning Kings Park.
Has the students warmed up Master Blinston with 44 years of martial arts knowledge gave his introduction along with a brief history of the Korean martial arts.
It is more than kicking and striking……….
The master explained his teaching methods places an emphasis on learning skills that are taught not just to help in the martial arts lessons, but to help in children’s school education, adult working environments’ and socially in everyday life.
Developing structure, honouring rules, focusing on health and mental wellbeing, martial arts at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy also teaches confidence building, understanding courtesy and respect towards parents, respecting their peers and others in society.
Students that participate in martial at the Retford based academy and attended the Charter Day event ranged from 4 to 75 years and have trained with Master Blinston for many years learning, practising, and demonstrating their traditional martial arts, sports combat, Leadership curriculum, technical skills, and self Defence.
If you were unable to attend the Charter Day event this year than Master Blinston has extended the opportunity throughout the month of May for children, adults, and families to take a complimentary lesson at the academy or participate in the Charter Day 1-month Introductory course.

Students were really swept off their feet, they were taught defence moves through grips, blocks, re-strain techniques, take downs and the art of deception. they studied the movements carefully and helping them master their self-defence, increased self-awareness, control, and disciplines, a brilliant confidence booster. Summer graduation brought the best out of the students on Saturday here at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
New beginners were fantastic and clearly one could see that the time and effort had been put in before the graduation day.
A full academy with spectators, family and friends, saw their loved one successfully graduate to their next belt grade. Congratulations to Harvey, who was presented with an award for student of the day.
Black Belt Leadership recommendations were also presented and the day was topped off with Mr Stefanski being awarded his 2nd Dan certification by Master Andrew Blinston.

This time next year some of these students will be Black Belt 1st Dan, 2nd Dan even 3rd Dan. They all will have become more confident.
They all will have overcome challenges and continue to become successful in their martial arts and life goals. Hip, Hip, Hooray! it’s graduation day. Big shout out and congratulations for the latest group of students who have achieved their next coloured belt, students who recently joined Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy, all eagerly waited for their results and certification from Master Blinston - chief instructor.
The Saturday morning event was full of cheers and praises when 40 students successfully passed with flying colours. All basic disciplines of the Korean martial arts were covered in graduation along with terminology and symbolisation. Fun Martial Arts Seminar in Retford
Saturday brought around another martial arts event at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy Retford. One of our fantastic, specialised seminars.” The art of the Nunchaku”. Using safe practice of the nunchaku and guidance from Master Andrew Blinston, Chief instructor. Students were encouraged after learning the basic skills and safety tips to practice and improvise in the art of freestyle, creating their own unique and diverse pattern. Freestyle nunchaku is a modern style of performance art using nunchaku as a visual tool, rather than as a weapon.
Our next level in training is “The Art of demonstrating the Glow in the Dark Nunchaku”.
Brief description of the nunchaku was explained by Master Blinston and its original origins. Nunchaku is a traditional Okinawan martial arts weapon consisting of two sticks (traditionally made of wood), connected to each other at their ends by a short metal chain or a rope. A person who has practiced using this weapon is referred to in Japanese as “Nunchakuka”.
This lively and positive fun seminar enjoyed by young and old. One for all the family to get involved in, left student’s practicing over the weekend and demonstrating their skills in class. Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy rounded off another week off, what again can only be described as the impossible.Why? Because 6 students who reached the most important stages of their Martial Arts & Leadership training with Master Blinston were side tracked by the pandemic, Covid-19 & recurring lockdowns.
They were all on track to graduate to Black Belt when the news of the pandemic hit the headlines.
How was this achieved you wonder? By going above & beyond expectations, staying committed and dedicated to their Martial Arts Tuition; attending coloured belt graduations, interactive seminars & personal developments, some of which were conducted online and In-house where possible. The support & encouragement from their families & loved ones also unconditional support, education & guidance from Master Blinston throughout.

Due to Covid Pandemic over the last 15 months Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy have made the commitment to stay open throughout the summer holidays, however, please stay up to date with the occasional adjustment to the schedule.

So the goverment have lifted the legal requirements regards to covid 19, We want to reassure you and your family that safety is our top priority here at the academy.
You're aware that from the 19th of July it is no longer mandatory to wear a face covering, we at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy intend to carry on this practice until further notice this is to protect vulnerable staff, students and parents. Please respect our decision and continue to wear your face coverings when arriving at the academy.
Covid policy's will stay in place for all students and parents when visiting the academy.Covid cleaning procedures in between each class, evening and at the end of the week will stay in place. The class schedule and booking system will stay in place, reviewed regularly and increased when required. We encourage students to arrive where possible in uniform, although changing rooms are available on request. Finally, an announcement that brings some long awaited good news!
We are so excited to have a target date for our opening for in-house lessons again. Over the next few days, we will be looking at all the Government guidance to establish reopening.
At a glance it looks like we will be able to reopen for classes on the 12th April for 18 years and under and students with disability’s. 12th April also brings Open Practice with guided tuition sheets for Individuals, adults, children and families, Booking is required.
17th May we can see the full schedule return for all students. If all goes to plan we can introduce all our martial arts discipline’s back into the tuition curriculum by 21st June.
We will release more detailed information soon, also priority goes to our students, Online Students and future students that are on our Priority Waiting List. To confirm our Academy is a full-time location professionally and privately owned this is our full-time career we will go above and beyond to maintain and provide the highest standard of tuition and continue to delevop our online service. Your tuition membership maybe via classes in person at the academy or by a Live Online Class, we will be spending hours putting extra class planners together, communicating with students and following our regular curriculum.

STUDENTS MAKE THE GRADE LIVE ONLINEStudent at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy in Nottinghamshire, kicking the Covid-19. Martial arts students achieved their next belt levels with the support of Instructor Master Andrew Blinston. Students over the last four months attended regular daily online live martial arts lessons in preparation for the 1 hour Live online graduation, Individual's and family's participated in the live event, while recording their demonstration and sending to their Master Instructor to review. Master Blinston has been monitoring students Martial Arts Progression, Personal Development and attitude throughout 2019 by student appraisals, recommendations, class training, graduations, midterm, additional seminars, activities and events.
This has been an amazing year, students have shone in all areas of their Martial Arts training and some have really developed personally, finding they are achieving things, they thought not possible in the family of Martial Arts. Each student so rightly deserves an award, as in our eyes our students are all champions and winners but in sport there can only be one winner and it is thanks to all those who participated.

Over the past 9 years Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy has grown in Retford Nottinghamshire from strength to strength winning an accolade of awards and we have been embraced by the local community, local and national press, educational sectors, district council and local businesses. We would also like to thank Mr Macioszek, Mr Oakes and Mr Walker. In May of this year Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy was asked to choreographya James Bond, Skyfall Themed Demonstration for the Mamie Jane Charity to help raise money to help prevent poverty, educate and give medical supplies to vulnerable children in Kenya. After many hours of Mr Macioszek getting dead legs, Mr Oakes being hit over the head and Mr Walker falling over A LOT… they finally came through with a finished product. We would like to congratulate them on their dedication and support.

Ninja Tots are the Best, Ninja Tots are the best is a martial arts program designed to enhance a 3-year olds mobility, balance, co-ordination and Martial Arts Skills. The classes are successfully taught by Master Blinston and Miss Blinston, with the little Ninja Tots keeping them on their toes. Awards went to all the Ninja Tots, Congratulations.
Rising Star – The Best New Beginner sponsored by BRAD BRADLEY PT, THE WINNER HENRY LEWIS. Since joining the academy in January 2019 Henry has come along leaps and bounds, with his positive attitude and polite and respectful manners. His keen interest in Martial Arts and with a natural ability to help guide other students, he is certainly a young role model for the other children to look up too.
Leadership Spirt – A student who stands out from the rest and goes above and beyond sponsored by THEMIS ESTATE PLANNING LTD, THE WINNER FINLAY KANE. Finlay first came into the academy by his little brother “sharing the art” with him. Throughout the past 2 – 3 years Finlay has showed dedication, commitment, perseverance and patience within his training. He will help newer students feel comfortable in class with his light-hearted sense of humour and will take time to explain and give help where is needed to students. His spirt shows within his Training.
Lynx Champion – A student who exceeds in all categories, shows impeccable dedication to training, their Master, fellow students and the Academy sponsored by RAM MOTORS. This Student started their Martial Arts journey at the age of 8 and 6 years later they are still as committed to their training since the day they started. They have shown constant perseverance throughout the years and may have struggled at different times but has never given up. Their Black Belt Leadership Attitude, polite manners, respectfulness and technical abilities have now made them a role model for everyone to follow. The constant support of his grandma behind him always making sure he attends his classes and graduations doesn’t go unmissed. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEWEST BLACK BELT
Another big shout out to the newest group of Black Belts from Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy. On Saturday 6th July five students made the grade after an intense graduation hosted by 6th Dan Master Instructor Andrew Blinston at Nottinghamshire based martial arts school, Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
Father and daughter Paul and Iona Reekie along with Zak Deere, Jack Carter and Alfie Frederick all achieved 1st Dan Black Belt.
Paul started out his martial arts tuition in January 2016 by invitation from Master Blinston on the 2 for 1 membership. Paul thought it would be a great idea to train alongside his daughter Iona giving that extra family support.
Zak was one of many school children that won a complimentary introductory martial arts program donated by the academy at a school Christmas fair in December 2015 and joined the Retford martial arts school in February 2016.
Jack also joining the academy in November 2015 along with his grandfather on a one-month introductory program.
Alfie Fredrick started out his journey to Black Belt also in November 2015 and is currently one of the best attendees with over 750 lesson visits during his time to black belt.
The students covered all areas of the Korean martial arts with skilled and controlled sparring, patterns, one step sparring and Technical breaking to boards.
All five students have trained under the supervision of Master Andrew Blinston 6th Dan for over three years and were promoted to Black Belt 1st Dan after their 4-hour preparation seminar then followed with a 45-minute demonstration to Master Blinston and their family and friends.
This was a very proud moment with Master Blinston explaining how differently their next level of training will feel over the next 12 months. We would like to congratulate all the students and look forward to seeing them in our black belt classes.

Congratulations and thank you to our martial arts students and parent's at the Retford based Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy. We raised over £150.00 supporting the Red Nose event hosted at our professional martial arts school recently. A family fun martial arts session saw the students participate in team challenges consisting of various martial arts disciplines, music and disco lights created the scene for a fun filled academy, whist students competed against each other wearing their noses and red T-shirts.
Charlie Pritchard commented that this was the best event he had attended at the academy so far and how much fun, he and his brother had.
Money was raised by an entry fee on the night, raffles and refreshments sales. Eliana Wilkinson won the 3 months training program.

Jacob Oakes, Stefan Hallam, Joe Hallam, Cayden Hazlett and James Leyland all performed extremely well under the pressure of the 5 hour graduation day conducted by Chief Instructor Master Andrew Blinston. They accelerated in their martial arts knowledge and understanding for the Korean art. Showing power and sharpness throughout. Their demonstrations of the patterns were outstanding and breaking techniques were on point. These juniors students having trained for 3, 4 and 5 years. Achieve their Black Belt goals, demonstrating Black Belt attitude and leadership skills along their martial arts journey. Their parents are extremely proud of their sons achievements, along with Master Andrew Blinston, also thank you to fellow students, Gary Walker, Paul Oakes and son James.

Another group of dedicated martial arts students in Retford achieve Black Belt at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
Whilst England played their way into the semi finals of the world cup on Saturday afternoon, 5 super talented students from Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy smashed their goals and made black belt 1st and 3rd dan. An emotional, gruelling and exhausting day for 5 solid hours under extreme heat, saw brother and sister Connor and Morgan Cnockaert along with their mum Jennifer Lamon make black belt alongside fellow student Gary Walker. Miss Rhio Blinston also graduated to black belt 3rd dan on the day.
The black belt and dan grade graduation was held at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy in Retford under Master Andrew Blinston the vice president of the Mudo Academy of Great Britain and Chief Instructor of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
Jennifer and her children have been attending the professional martial arts school for appropriately five year, joining in April 2013, where they have attended martial arts leadership training sessions, specialised seminars and many hours of additional private tuition with Master Blinston. Mr Walker also followed the same intense training schedule, but attended personal development courses within the academy to enhance his development for the Korean art.
Each student as part of their graduation had to provide a written piece, explaining what they had gained and achieved with in their training and what impact this had on their lives, along with emotional/physical challenges they had over come.
Miss Rhio Blinston had been in training for 4 years hoping to make it to 3rd dan on the day. Additional to the 5 hour event, she was assessed on her teaching methods and skills, commitment outside the academy and in the community, along with additional courses and certification's awarded.
These five dedicated students worked so hard and gave their all. It was an emotional day with tears of joy, smiles all around and lots of praise, Congratulations!!

Korean Master's Visit to Retford Nottinghamshire
Master Kim Yong Ho, Master Kim Jihyun and Master Yu flew from Korea over for their Summer UK martial arts seminar tour, one of the stops was Lynx Black Black Leadership Academy in Retford, where they hosted a two hour seminar on behalf of Master Andrew Blinston, Chief instructor and the students of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
Master Kim Yong Ho, Senior leader of the martial arts world and president of the World Mudo Academy, is Master Blinston's Master and Andrew has followed his Korean martial art teachings for many years now. To have such pristine masters here, altogether at the academy was a great honour Master Blinston quoted.
"It was an unprecedented opportunity for the students of North Nottinghamshire to train in such a knowledgable seminar, he continued to say. Master Kim Yong Ho opened up the seminar with an educational speech of his knowledge and wisdom of the Korean art, stories of his past experiences and what he sees of the future of the art here in the U.K. and back home in Korea" Master Kim Jihyun was introduced into the seminar shortly afterwards to demonstrate his Taekwondo skills, his skill of the sport and to engage in trainingwith the Lynx students. Finally to conclude the event Master Yu, the renowned Energy Master who spent many years living the Korean mountains, used his healing powers and techniques on students who had minor aches and pains.
The Masters continued their tour by heading to surrounding cities to continue the practice of the Korean Martial arts. We wish them all a safe return back to Korea and thank them for an amazing experience:

Black Belt Achievement For Connor!
Young Connor Cooley-Belfour aged 12 and a student at Retford Oaks Academy, has graduated to Black Belt 1st Dan in the Korean Martial Arts after almost three years of training at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy. Under the supervision of Master Andrew Blinston. Connor attend's training sessions 3/4 times a week, leadership seminars, personal development courses and support's community and demonstration events.
Thank you to his parents and grandparents who continuously supported his journey to Black Belt, Connor made the grade after a lengthy and intense graduation day conducted on Exchange Street, Retford.

End of Year Awards Presentation and Graduation 2017
Jack pot this week when students successfully graduated to their first Belt level. Hosted at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy under chief instructor Master Andrew Blinston, 30 new local based students demonstrated basic martial arts skills, integrity and leadership attitude. These new students have been training at the full time centre on exchange street for three months now and enjoy every minute of it. Their first level graduation was rewarding and inspiring to see!
Also pictured below are the current black belts who also took mid term graduations and are on track for 2nd and 3rd dan, these were once newbies who joined Master Blinston over 6 years ago when the Retford Academy first opened. Well done to all students who participated on the day.

Award winning Retford martial arts school, sees local students graduate to Black Belt and 2nd Dan under the eager and watchful eye of their Master Instructor, Andrew Blinston.
It was a fantastic achievement to witness father and son, Paul and James Oakes promoted to 2nd Dan along with female martial artist Miss Donna Barker, all three students have trained at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy for over 5 years and studied in the advanced Black Belt Leadership Training Program.
Micheal Orchard and Dean Hobson were newly promoted to Black Belt 1st Dan after three years of continuous training with Master Blinston. Both have attended personal development courses and private tuition with their Master, along with attending three to four training lessons each week to enhance their performance of the Korean art.
After the four hour personal development and graduation, belts and uniforms were presented to students in front of their family and guests, celebration speeches were made by Master Blinston.
Talking about the journey and the development each student has made, Master Blinston explained that although each student is unique and will develop their skills at different levels within their training, the one thing that is always consistent is their positive attitude of a Black Belt in and out of the academy. Seminar With Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan
The end of February brought together students of The Mudo Academy of Great Britain & Chungdokwan UK, we were honoured to host the seminar with President of the World Mudo Academy, (Grand) Master Kim Yong Ho. Master Kim travelled to the UK to teach local students. The seminars were attended by students of all ages and abilities, who were all able to learn from this remarkable man. The Mudo Academy is incredibly fortunate to have Master Kim sharing his knowledge with us. We are truly humbled to have such an auspicious figure taking time to visit the area and inspire us with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Many thanks again to Master Kim for his time and effort.

"Sports coach of the year 2016" and Recognition of Support to the "Bassetlaw Games" Master Blinston said "It is a great pleasure to receive the Sports Coach of the Year award for the second time" Master Blinston picked up the same award back in 2013.
Chief instructor Master Andrew Blinston 6th Dan has recently won Bassetlaw Sports Coach of the Year at the 20th annual sports awards.
He also made the finals of the life time achievement category and received a recognition awards for his martial arts sport in the Bassetlaw Games Rio 2016, quoted by the Bassetlaw Senior Sports Officer Tony Wright " the academy was the most proactive and committed to the project" Master Andrew Blinston who is trained in the Korean martial arts, hapkido, self defence, tia Chi and mediation began his martial arts journey at the age of 11 and has over 36 years of martial arts knowledge and experience. He also trains under the guidance of Grand Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan, as well as running an award winning full time martial arts academy situated in Retford. This is the second time Andrew has won the award, winning it back on 2013 saw the humble Master make it to the finals of the National hosted in Nottinghamshire.
Master Blinston is in training to achieve his 7th Dan, he is the General Secretary for the The Mudo Academy of Great Britain & Chungdokwan UK and a verifier for a national governing body.
Master Blinston is a proactive martial arts instructor who assists widely in his local community and in schools, 25 black belts train and assist at the professional martial arts school and all began their training with him as white belts. He also has a career training program in place for anyone to become a part time or full time instructor under his knowledge and supervision, and junior assistant instructors completing NVQs level 2 / 3

What a fantastic start to the year …..Great classes and great atmosphere!
Welcome to all our new students and parents who have joined us. Congratulations to the students who have set their goal to black belt leadership training, our new scholarship student and the six students preparing for black belt in April.
A surreal experience …. The presence of the Grand-master! Really, I can not put into words the whole experience of Grandmaster Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan, visiting to Retford and teaching the students at Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.
"A surreal, breathtaking and emotional encounter shared by all who travelled near and far. A moment in history that shan't be forgotten" Guests arrived early that morning to be welcomed by Master Andrew Blinston and Rachel Blinston, including Master Blinston's very first female instructor Master Susan Greaves , a silver commonwealth medal winner in her prime, leader of the council Simon Greaves and instructors from the united kingdom. Welcome speeches and the history of the Grandmaster were read along with emails of support from the district council , sports development team and Help for hero regional fundraiser. A heartwarming speech was delivered by the Grandmaster himself, whilst leader of the council Simon, also touched upon the development of the professional martial arts school and students success, its community spirit and the wisdom of the Grandmaster.
As the Grandmaster made his entrance into the academy with Master Blinston, excitement and anticipation filled the air. The Korean National anthem could be heard playing on the saxophone by Lynx student Robert Macoiszek, where upon Grandmaster Kim Yong Ho presented the District Council with a Korean scroll, signature of the Chungdokwan founder.
The seminar began with a highly energised warm up and Grandmaster Kim 74 years young,educated and trained with the students like the world legend he is. Speaking five languages and travelling the world to teach the “true spirit of martial arts”, Morocco, Portugal, Luxembourg, Greece and England to name a few. Master Kim's translation can be quite amusing and an ice breaker at times, however this is a Grandmaster who has trained body guards and official's who were responsible for the safety of the Vietnamese Prime Minister and was posted as an advisor to a Vietnamese General, before taking the role as an instructor in Iran, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Every moment of the seminar was captured on photo and filmed by local photographer Sally Outram, who also felt privileged to be in his presence. Although there is so much to say about this Master's knowledge, power, speed and experience, there was a moment in the seminar, when he used his own inner strength and breaking technique's against a athletic martial artist, who couldn't move the Grandmaster Kim off his spot nor use his own martial arts techniques to counter attack the Grandmaster.
Speaking about his own martial arts life experiences the Grandmaster placed a huge emphasis on family importance, the support, commitment and love of the martial arts “a family of martial artists” and the relationship he builds with the smaller students is quite something, he can command their attention instantly, has a warm and caring nature with a power of grandeur and authority, this is amazing to watch. His interaction with spectators and parents is also quite endearing as he has the ability to engage them into every fine detail of the seminar.
Grandmaster Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan, President of the World Chungdokwan and the World Mudo Academy spent three hours with the students of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy and visiting martial artists and It was truly amazing! Master Blinston has always trained under the Grandmaster and completed in the World Championships in 2002 in Morocco as a coach and competitor for the British team, bringing home 3 medals. Master Blinston is the general secretary of the “ Mudo Academy of Great Britain” and continues to support Grandmaster Kim in sharing his knowledge.
This seminar was conducted in celebration for four years of success of the Retford students and all associated with Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy.

Martial arts students compete for GOLD!
It gave great pleasure for Master Andrew Blinston 6th Dan and Rachel Blinston owners of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy to host their 3rd annual Martial Arts Festival” bringing a celebration and demonstration of martial arts skills and knowledge, displayed with an array of colour, spirit and passion.
The full time professional academy situated in the heart of Retford was alive with Champions, champions of a team spirit, leaders of motivation and winners of encouragement and commitment.
Organized and hosted by the Lynx academy team the competition consisted of various categories open to all ages and capabilities. From white belt to black belt Dan grades. Students could be seen competing in the following; Technical Breaking – the art of Board Breaking, Patterns – a sequence of movements, punching and kicking, One Step Sparring – pre-arranged self-defense techniques, Free Style – a combination of patterns, weapons and dynamic moves, Sparring- controlled contact fighting and flying side kick – over a heightened pole.
The day kicked off with a welcome speech and a dynamic demonstration from Master Andrew Blinston, then straight into the competition which was full of impact and excitement. With judging and scoring being handed in at the top table and the standard of the Retfordstudents, it was clear to see that the competition was going to be extremely close in all categories. The applause from crowds that turned out in support could be heard all around, whilst parents, families and friends helped to make the day a massive success.
After the results were in and calculated, Rachel Blinston co-owner of the Academy conducted the awards presentation alongside Master Blinston, where trophies were given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and medals presented for Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The teams of students, who competed in this martial arts competition, train in Positive Start, Leadership or Scholarship programs. They had been practicing extremely hard since the beginning of this year in preparation for the “festival of martial arts competition” and to make sure they could perfect their techniques.
With music and live commentary to compliment the competition – the event went down a storm and to top off the event Totally Locally Photographer Di Fisher snapped away at the students in action.
Master Blinston had the following to say: "Three words I continuously repeat throughout my students training, these are Belief, Challenge and Commitment and each and every one of you have displayed this today! Your parents and family, along with myself and Mrs Blinston are so extremely proud of you all. Today has been a fantastic and emotional day,Well done to you all, your amazing enthusiasm, dedication and commitment have made the day so special! True Champions"

Our Journey with Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy started 5 years ago when Lynx Academy was recommended to us by our son’s childminder as the best place for him to gain confidence he was lacking. Kristian, 4 at the time, a very shy boy, that wouldn't talk to his friends at pre-school, started training, with me and my wife watching him class after class. After just a few weeks we've noticed changes, he was becoming more confident, happy to demonstrate the skills he learned, focused and listening to instructions of his Master. A year later I decided to join in and train alongside Kristian, another year later my wife joined to train together as a family. Coming through the door of Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy was one of the best decisions we have made in our lives.
Training with Master Blinston is a life changing experience. Our Academy is not just about kicking and punching, it's about changing lifestyle for better, gaining leadership skills. Since we started, Kristian has become a happy child, one of the best grading students in his class at school, having loads of friends, I have started successful business, we're all fit and healthy. I’d had an interest in Martial Arts for a while and looking for a new challenge. This is when I was introduced to Master Andrew Blinston and Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy. I immediately liked the feel of the academy; "It wasn’t just a room where a group ran, but a whole martial arts experience"
I was very apprehensive and nervous when I first started, but the friendly, respectful, inclusive atmosphere soon made me relax and start to enjoy my Martial Arts. There has been so much to learn and work towards physically and mentally. I’ve loved having so many new challenges and having a great work out too! I have always been included and encouraged to join in demonstrations from a white belt, up to leading demonstrations as a Scholarship Instructor.
